What We Believe

At Agape Romanian Church of Houston, our faith is rooted in the eternal truth of the Bible and empowered by the living presence of the Holy Spirit. We hold fast to the following core beliefs:

The Bible

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It reveals God’s will and serves as our final guide for faith and life.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

The Trinity

We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit:

God the Father, the Creator and Sustainer of all

Jesus Christ, God’s Son, born of a virgin, sinless, crucified for our sins, risen, ascended, and coming again

The Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Guide, empowering us for holy living
(John 1:1–5; Acts 1:9–11; John 14:16, 26)

Humanity & Sin

Humanity was created good, but through disobedience, we were separated from God — spiritually and physically.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)

Salvation Through Jesus

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. By repenting and trusting Him, we are born again, justified, and welcomed into God’s family.
(John 3:3–7; Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10)

Water Baptism & Communion

We baptize believers by immersion as a public testimony of faith.
We regularly celebrate the Lord’s Supper to remember Jesus’ sacrifice and look forward to His return.
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)

The Holy Spirit & Spiritual Gifts

We believe in the baptism and daily filling of the Holy Spirit for every believer.
God gives supernatural gifts such as prophecy, healing, tongues, and discernment to empower the Church for ministry and mission.
(Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; James 5:14–16)

Healing

We believe that divine healing is available through faith, prayer, and the power of Christ’s atonement.
(Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 8:16–17)

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ — a community of believers who gather for worship, fellowship, and mission.
We exist to share the Gospel, make disciples, and love others as Christ loves us.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; Matthew 28:19–20)

Christ’s Return & Eternity

We believe Jesus will return. All will be resurrected — those who believe will live eternally with Him, and those who reject Him will face final judgment.
(John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:11–15)
